Also: why don't you have a baby yet?  [View Web Version]( [Zikoko Daily] 15 December, 2021 Hey there. My name is Mariam Sule, Zikoko’s HER editor. I am excited to finally be writing Zikoko Daily. The last time Ifoghale went on a break, he assigned a day to his faves on the team to write the newsletter. I didn’t make the list, and I won’t lie, the thing pained me. But yesterday, he sent me a message saying, “I am here to bring you your heart’s desire.” And so our beef has ended. Before we proceed, shameless plug: If you think there’s any story Zikoko’s [HER]( should be telling, no matter how wild or absurd you think it is, tell me all about it [here](. On today’s gist, Itohan and I talk about a 30-year-old Nigerian woman’s relationship with her faith 👇🏽. Mariam Sule HER Editor WHAT SHE SAID The Inside Gist: I Guard My Relationship With God Jealously ---------------------------------------------------------------  Itohan, first of all, are you religious? No, I’m not. I want to believe that my journey is more spiritual than religious. I’m a free spirit. Interesting. How did you feel about Koromone’s religious journey? I think it’s very similar to a lot of people's journeys. They are born into something and spend a large chunk of their life trying to figure out if it works for them. What’s something you took away from her story? Growing up may involve abandoning the ways of the people that raised you. And that’s fine. If you had kids, would you teach them to be religious or nah? I don’t plan on having children, but I tell all my younger cousins that they can be whatever they want as long as people don’t get hurt in the process. Do you think your parents' relationship with religion influenced yours? Definitely. My parents are very religious. Their beliefs shaped the foundation of my personal ideology, and this is what happens with Koromone.
