This year’s IWD celebration met stories of women achieving leadership positions, it also met bad news. The first was Bamise Ayanwola. The [23-year-old student had boarded a BRT bus but never got home](. She was murdered. It shattered hearts, indeed. The BRT bus driver is now in custody. But, how do we stop the idea of easy targeting? The other story is the one about the National Assembly throwing out five gender bills that were supposed to give women more representation in political leadership positions. This led to #OccupyNASS. Though, the [House of Representatives has agreed to revisit three of the bills](. We wish it were better than all of this. But we can talk about women who have braved the storm and are now leaders in their respective positions. We listed 100 of these women. Read their stories [here](.
