Every child deserves to live "life in all its fullness." [Image of the Capital in Washington D.C.]( “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” —Isaiah 1:17 (NIV) As we look ahead to this new year, be encouraged by the thought that each of us has the chance to be a source of light and hope – especially in a world facing so many incredible challenges. We follow a God who “upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry” (Psalm 146:7, NIV). And as His followers, we’re called to do the same. Will you join our community of advocates committed to upholding the cause of the most vulnerable – especially children – in Jesus’ name? [USE YOUR VOICE FOR CHILDREN]( Right now, far too many children and their families lack the resources to lead full, flourishing lives — especially when it comes to feeding and nourishing their bodies. Nearly 35 million people are facing emergency levels of hunger, and an estimated 30 million children are suffering from wasting, the most severe and life-threatening form of malnutrition. Twelve-year-old Isaack lives in a displacement camp in Somalia with his mother. Like so many others, they were forced from home by the combined effects of drought and conflict. Displacement camps offer limited resources, and families struggle to meet their basic needs, making their children even more vulnerable. Isaac dreams of becoming a teacher, but without nutritious food, access to formal education, or a stable environment, his dreams may remain out of reach. It doesn’t have to be this way. We live in a world where there is enough food to feed every child — we just need to ask our leaders to prioritize foreign assistance funding to provide for families in need. Join our community of advocates this year and use your voice for good!
