Because it sits atop my kitchen counter, away from my main workspace, it doesn’t get much wear and tear, outside of carbonating water or when I switch out CO₂ cylinders. I find that an occasional wipe with a damp paper towel helps to keep the exterior looking clean and presentable. SodaStream has a canister-exchange program that makes it easy to return an empty carbonation can for a full replacement via mail or at retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, and a range of grocery and kitchen stores. When it comes to how many extra canisters to keep on hand, it depends on how often you’re using your SodaStream. Two is the right amount for my household.
