Friend, The Maryland State House is the place where General George Washington resigned his military

[Wes Moore for Maryland]( Friend, The Maryland State House is the place where General George Washington resigned his military commission in 1783 — the first time in our nation's history where the peaceful transfer of power took place and set the precedent for how electoral transitions should occur in this country. This Tuesday, tens of millions of Americans went to the polls and exercised their democratic right and elected Donald Trump to be the next President of the United States. Our state is grateful to the poll workers, volunteers, and elections officials who took on the mantle as custodians of our democratic process. I am thankful to Vice President Harris for her moving concession address and doing her part to advance the successful transfer of power with integrity and patriotism. I also want the people of Maryland to know that the Moore-Miller Administration’s promise to leave no one behind remains steadfast, and we will continue to move forward as we always have in our state — together. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
