On the Path... [View in Web Browser]( [Access your FREE 15-minute insight call with Dylan]( Hi {NAME},  The first time I experienced a sacred medicine ceremony was in 2011 in a remote part of Costa Rica. I truly had no idea what I was getting myself into, but for some profound reason I was compelled to go. It was a pull that I just could not ignore. After traveling by bus for five hours, by boat for and hour and a half, and then a humid 20 minute walk through the jungle I arrived at [Ocean Forest EcoLodge]( to meet Don Rogelio and Don Augustin Peyaguaje of the Secoya, both with some of the fullest and most authentic smiles I had ever seen. The rest is history, as they say. I've spent the years since journeying with the Secoya whenever I could, learning the secrets of facilitating ceremony and cooking brew with my teacher Jonathon Miller-Weisberger, and gathering as much wisdom and insight as I could from Secoya elders. [Battered Souls Podcast]( Ayahuasca is now popularized in America, and dare I say, mainstream? On any given night in this country there are hundreds of ceremonies, in cities all over, presided over by traveling shaman, experienced facilitators, and charlatans. The authentic experience of drinking for spiritual growth in the jungle has been watered down from its origins, and this medicine is now served in the most posh LA mansions and in homes locations all over the world, which is great on one level. But something is being lost, and without a full understanding of the medicine and how to prepare for it, many people are sincerely missing out on all this experience has to offer, and may even be inviting complications. For the latest episode of [Battered Souls]( I spoke with my teacher and maestro, Jonathon Miller-Weisberger, who has been leading ceremonies at his lodge and deep in the Amazon for over 20 years. He is the author of Rainforest Medicine: Preserving Indigenous Science and Biodiversity in the Upper Amazon, a conservationist, and one of the best story tellers I've ever known. If you're thinking about finding this experience for yourself, if you're seeking a deeper understanding of this medicine tradition, or if you're just curious about this experience, you will definitely get a lot out of this episode. Jonathon is hosting several upcoming medicine retreats in Ecuador and at his [eco-lodge in Costa Rica](, so reach out to him through his website, [Rainforest Medicine](, if you feel the call to join. He has my highest personal endorsement. For me, it's been almost 2 years since I drank this medicine in ceremony, but I will have the opportunity to do so again soon, and I've preparing my body, mind, and spirit for the journey. I hope you get as mush out of this conversation as I did. And as always, if you're interested in learning how my personal coaching or psychedelic integration coaching may benefit you on your journey, book a FREE 15-minute call withe me, [HERE](. Here is the podcast link... Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
