Looking for a Speaker - are you interested?

After booting their own man out of the job, they’ve put multiple candidates forward to take McCarthy’s place – and all of them have failed.  As of today, there are NINE new contenders for the Speakership, and here’s the kicker. Only TWO of the nine voted to certify the 2020 election results. The rest of them are all members of the Sedition Caucus.  From McCarthy to Scalise to Jordan, and now seven of nine new contenders, it sure seems like being an election denier is the most important qualification for the job.  I don’t know how this GOP-created crisis is going to get resolved. But I can read the room enough to know this – we cannot have an election denier in charge of the House the next time we have to certify a presidential election.  Vortex is working to help take back the House majority for Democrats by flipping all four seats here in Arkansas. But the reality is, this isn’t funny at all.  One of our three branches of government has been ground to a halt by a handful of radical right-wingers holding our country hostage – and that’s a constitutional crisis.  As long as we don’t have a Speaker, we can’t pass ANY legislation in the House – and nothing passed by the Senate can advance to the White House to be signed into law.  That means NO deal to stop the next federal government shutdown, now just 25 days away.  That means NO aid for the rapidly escalating crisis in Israel-Palestine.  Right now, Congress couldn’t even pass a bill to name a post office.  [If it wasn’t already clear that Democrats have got to take back the majority next year, these last 3 weeks have proven it.
