{NAME},  I never thought I'd have to write these words in 2024, but here we are:  Republicans are trying to strip women of their right to vote.  This has most recently taken form in the SAVE Act (but it’s by no means the only way they’re trying), and our Republican representatives here in Arkansas are all in lockstep supporting this dangerous bill. Rick Crawford (AR-01) is even a co-sponsor.  While most of the focus has been on the bill's anti-immigrant fear-mongering, the insidious threat that the SAVE Act could disenfranchise millions of married women in America has flown under the radar.  Here's how: The bill requires voters to show proof of citizenship PLUS a current ID with the exact same name. Sounds simple, right? [An image from The New Republic with the headline, “How the Republican War on Women Extends to Voting Rights.” And the subhead, “Most women vote Democratic. And most still change their name when they marry. And that’s where the GOP sees an Achilles’ heel.]( Except that about 90% of women change their names when they get married. That means their current ID won't match their birth certificate or other proof of citizenship.  The result? Many women would be turned away at the polls.  This isn't about election integrity. It's about control for MAGA Republicans. Combine this with things J.D. Vance has said and means - he wants to disenfranchise those who aren’t parents and more.  They overturned Roe. They're trying to block access to contraception. Now, they're coming for our voting rights. It's clearer every day: controlling women is the goal. We can't let them succeed. That's why it's more critical than ever that we elect Rodney, Marcus, Caitlin, and Risie to Congress this November - we need a firewall of Democrats in the House, and it starts here.  [With just 18 days left until Election Day, we need your help to get our message out and mobilize voters across Arkansas. Can you chip in $25, $50, $75, $100, or whatever fits your budget today to fuel our final push in the run up to November 5th?](  The stakes couldn't be higher. Our very right to participate in democracy is on the line.  Let's show these extremists that Arkansas women - and the men who support us - won't go back.  Thank you,  Jennifer Browne for Team Vortex [Support Vortex PAC](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
