{NAME},  On Monday, JD Vance started trending on social media for repeating a bizarre, seemingly-out-of-nowhere conspiracy theory about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, OH.  He was quickly and thoroughly mocked for it, so much so that he attempted to walk it back a few hours later.  But other Republican stalwarts like Jim Jordan took to the media to spread the same vicious lie.  And then, on Tuesday night, Donald Trump repeated these baseless, wholly debunked, frankly violent claims on the debate stage.  The memes quickly followed, but this is no joke. This is incredibly dangerous. In case you’ve been hiding under a rock the last few days, here’s what Trump said: [A graphic featuring an old looking TV set with a staticky video of Donald Trump saying “In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there.” The caption above the TV reads: “This isn’t a joke. This is dangerous.” with the word dangerous highlighted for extra emphasis.]( Now Trump’s words have sparked a madness from his supporters that's engulfing Springfield, Ohio.  But the devastation isn't stopping at city limits.  You might not take Trump seriously, but somebody is. And it’s likely to get someone killed if we don’t stand up to this.  We've seen it happen before. Trump’s words incited a well-coordinated, thoroughly planned assault on our nation’s capital on January 6th, 2021.  And in 2019, when a gunman descended onto a Walmart in El Paso and murdered 23 people, he echoed Trump's rhetoric about a "Hispanic invasion" in his manifesto. [A screenshot of an ABC News article from 2019 with the headline, “Trump’s language about Mexican immigrants under scrutiny in wake of El Paso shooting.]( Now, history is threatening to repeat itself.  In the last 48 hours Springfield has been struck by an unprecedented wave of threats, forcing multiple schools across the Springfield City School District to evacuate.  City Hall, government offices, and public service centers have also been targeted.  The FBI has been called in to assist with the investigation. Thousands of students, city employees, and citizens have had their lives disrupted.  Haitian families are keeping their children home out of fear.  All because of Trump’s MAGA lies and disinformation.  What's equally disturbing is the deafening silence from Arkansas' four Republican representatives in Congress. It's been three days since Trump's dangerous fabrication, and not one of them has spoken out to condemn it. Their silence is complicity.  We cannot stand by while hate puts innocent lives at risk and paralyzes an entire community.  We must take action by:  Speaking out forcefully against these falsehoods to combat disinformation.  Holding our representatives accountable for their silence.  Continuing to make our grassroots movement even stronger to replace them with those who will stand up for our neighbors.  [That's exactly what Vortex PAC is doing - but we need your help to amplify our efforts. Can you chip in $25, $50, or $100 today to help us fight back against Trump’s dangerous lies so we can ramp up our efforts to flip all four of Arkansas’ house seats BLUE? We simply cannot afford to continue to re-elect MAGA representatives - it is too dangerous for all of us.](  The events unfolding in Springfield are a stark reminder of what's at stake in 2024. We're not just fighting for policies - we're fighting to prevent violence sprung from hateful rhetoric.  With your support, we can build a movement that drowns out the lies with truth, compassion, and justice.  We are NOT stuck with hate. And we are NOT going back.  Robb Ryerse [Support Vortex PAC >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
