French Hill had one job, {NAME}. All he had to do before casting his vote was to read the damn bill.  Let me back up.  Last week, nearly 50 Republicans voted for Marjorie Taylor Greene’s amendment to defund NATO, the single most important military alliance for global peace and Western security since the end of World War II.  French Hill was one of them.  A few hours later, Hill issued a statement via X/Twitter that the vote was a “mistake”.  But his opponent, Vortex candidate Marcus Jones, isn’t laughing. [A screenshot of a tweet from Marcus Jones quoting French Hill. The tweet reads: “I’m proud to have served for three years (2017-2020) at NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre alongside our brave Allies and Partners, and I pledge that when elected I’ll give due consideration to all legislation that impacts our Trans-Atlantic Alliance. Thanks to the other 354 members of Congress (Democrats and Republicans) who were paying attention and defeated this Amendment.” The quoted tweet from French Hill reads: “My record and history show that I have been a strong supporter of NATO. Today, I mistakenly voted in favor of an amendment to defund the NATO Security Investment Program. I have submitted a statement to the Congressional Record clarifying my vote and that I intended to vote NO on Roll Call No. 239.”]( If we didn’t already have a thousand reasons Marcus Jones is a better representative for Arkansas, this one is a whopper. We can promise you that Marcus will never vote to dismantle or defund the critical military alliances that keep us safe – accidentally or otherwise.  [Will you split a contribution between Vortex and Marcus’ campaign today so we can make sure he wins in November?]( [ Donate to Marcus and VortexÂ]( I know some of these bills are long, so maybe our congressmen don’t have time to read every single page. But here’s a little tip to streamline the process (just some free advice for you, French):  If you’re asked to vote on a bill authored by Marjorie Taylor Greene – or any other member of the MAGA caucus – don’t.  I don’t think it’s too much to expect that our representatives actually know what they’re voting for, and I’m confident that none of our Vortex-endorsed candidates would radically alter US foreign policy by “accident.”  French had one job, and he blew it. Let’s send him packing in November.  More soon,  Robb [Donate to Marcus and Vortex](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
