Trump convicted: Arkansas deserves better

Let’s not allow a corrupt GOP to dominate our state’s future, join us now to close out May… {NAME},  Yesterday brought the news we've all been waiting for: Former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in his hush money criminal trial. The country is buzzing in celebration and shock, and the tremors are shaking the foundations of power.  Republicans are worried.  Trump, who once boasted, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn't lose any voters,” now has all the usual GOP suspects trying to prove him right and falling all over themselves to defend him, including right here in Arkansas.  It’s sickening. Rumored to be vying for Trump's VP pick, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton shamelessly called the jury trial–whose members were carefully selected by both the defense and prosecution–a "travesty of justice" and "election interference."  Meanwhile, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders called the trial "politically motivated," just as she did countless times from the lectern while covering for Trump's misdeeds as his press secretary.  Arkansas Representative French Hill, another Trump sycophant, has shown where his loyalties lie by dismissing Trump's guilty verdict as a "political gotcha game." Meanwhile, Rep. Rick Crawford does no better, playing down this historic 34-count felony conviction as "inflating a charge." [Vortex House Candidate Marcus Jones running for AR-02 against Rep. French Hill’s support for convicted felon Donald Trump reinforces what we already knew: Hill is in Congress to serve the extreme MAGA agenda, not the people of Arkansas’s Second District. We should be focused on the issues working people face, not on the criminal conviction of the Republican party’s nominee for President. We deserve better, Arkansas.”]( The people of Arkansas deserve better. The likes of Tom Cotton, Huckabee Sanders, French Hill, and Rick Crawford don't represent our values and it’s high past time to show them the door.  Our representatives should be focused on the issues that matter to working people, not on the felony criminal convictions of the Republican party's nominee for President.  Let's demand more, Arkansas.  This is the new normal for today's Republican Party, but it doesn't have to be our future.
