This is not a joke. This is an emergency. {NAME},  We’ve talked a lot about Project 2025 and the danger that plan represents if Trump is elected president.  But Republicans aren’t waiting for Trump to get back into power to start implementing their authoritarian, Christian Nationalist agenda.  Meet Katie Britt. Freshman Senator from Alabama. MAGA loyalist. And anti-abortion extremist. [An animated gif featuring a screenshot of a tweet by Katie Britt and a moving video clip of her speaking about the MOMS Act.]( Katie Britt and other Senate Republicans just introduced the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed Act, or MOMS Act, which they promise provides “critical support” to women during and after pregnancy.  Sounds harmless enough, right?  Wrong. This bill is the beginning of the end for abortion and medical privacy.  The MOMS Act forces doctors to direct women who are considering abortion to crisis pregnancy centers, where staff are trained to convince women to keep their pregnancy.  The language in this bill also legally recognizes embryos and fetuses as living children, threatening the future of in vitro fertilization and allowing any abortion to be seen as murder under the law.  {NAME}, if this passes, then Congress won’t even need to vote on the Life at Conception Act, the national abortion ban backed by three of our representatives here in Arkansas.  But it gets even worse, as Emergency Room physician and long-time public health advocate Dr. Rob Davidson writes: [A screenshot of a series of tweets by Dr. Rob Davidson posted May 11th, discussing the dangers of the MOMS Act which he calls a “GOP ploy to pretend they’ve softened their extreme views on abortion”. He further stipulates that the bill will create a national database of pregnant women in the US and states “this is chilling in a post-Roe America.” Additionally he states the bill will “advance the GOP’s long-held wish of granting personhood to an embryo or fetus” and states that puts IVF at risk. The full thread is available on Dr. Rob Davidson’s profile on Twitter.]( That’s right: The MOMS Act creates a national government database of pregnant women, the first step to forming Project 2025’s abortion surveillance program.  [It is critical that Democrats flip the House and hold the Senate to have full control of Congress next year. We know that if he’s re-elected with a Republican House and Senate at his beck and call, the MOMS Act becomes the law of the land and sets women back by a hundred years.  We have to fight for every single seat to keep that from happening. Democrats only need to flip ONE seat to take back the House majority – and we’ve got four right here in Arkansas.  Help us mobilize every persuadable voter to turn out this November and protect women from mass government surveillance.  Let’s get it done,  Robb [Support Vortex PAC >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
