Our country could be in serious trouble.

The ball is in our court. {NAME},  We always strive for our emails to provide you with something of value – to give you insight on an issue, to highlight things you need to know to make informed decisions at the ballot box, and to give you meaningful ways to take action.  I don’t like the doom and gloom type of messages that some political organizations put out. Our goal is to be candid with you about the challenges ahead of us, while also talking about solutions.  The truth is that our country stands at the crossroads of a very dangerous political moment. Far-right extremists have spent decades structurally building their control of our political systems. They have successfully captured our courts and many of our state legislatures and governors’ offices.  Republicans in Congress have been thoroughly subsumed by the most reactionary forces within their party. If they’re allowed to take full control of Congress next year, they’re plotting a national abortion ban, a pregnancy surveillance system, a total dismantling of LGBTQIA rights, gutting Social Security and Medicare – and that’s just for starters.  But for all the power Republicans currently wield there’s one very important thing they DON’T have. Us.  The people are NOT on their side, and they know it. That’s why they work so hard to stifle voter turnout and lie when they lose elections.  Our best antidote to all their worst plans is to vote them out of power and never let them back in. That’s what we’re working towards here in Arkansas.  Whether it takes 2 years or 4 years or 10 or 20, Vortex is in this for the long haul. We’re building the statewide organizing infrastructure that will flip these seats and flip our state. But we need your help to build it.  Right now fundraising has slowed down a good bit. We can tear it down in 4. We’ve seen that in Georgia, in Arizona, and a dozen other states where Democrats continue gaining ground.  This work is hard, and sometimes heartbreaking.
