Some warned against ventures that merely replicate existing technologies. They also highlighted AI's transformative potential while acknowledging the need for ethical considerations, more robust infrastructure, and inclusive policies. Approaches to AI Development and Adoption There were contrasting views on AI development strategies. Baidu's CEO, Robin Li, showcased China's practical, application-driven AI strategy, emphasizing the importance of data handling and engineering expertise. Meanwhile, Yann LeCun, Meta’s Chief AI Scientist, advocated for the open-source movement in AI, arguing that transparency and collaboration can accelerate AI innovation. Christel Heydemann, CEO of Orange, discussed the substantial infrastructure demands of AI, advocating for a decentralized approach.
