In 2016, [North Carolina enacted a hateful bathroom bill, launching national outrage and a partial repeal](. In 2023, the [bathroom bills reared their ugly heads once again]( [as a national effort to rollback LGBTQ+ rights swept the legislature](. Bigots in North Carolina [successfully overrode the Governor’s veto]( passing a trio of anti-LGBTQ bills, [including a “Don’t Say Gay” bill](. Robinson, notably, [called for trans people to be arrested if they use the wrong bathroom](.
