Why Would Women Vote for Trump? • Was He Being Serious? • Did The Simpsons Predict This? [View in your browser]( | [Update your preferences](newsletter=vf) [Vanity Fair Hive logo image]( Will Taylor Swift Endorse Kamala Harris? (And Other 2024 Questions) Good morning. It might be obvious but it should be said that voters in November deciding between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will also be deciding between two radically different visions for women’s rights in America. One candidate’s party platform includes codifying Roe. The other, as Molly Jong-Fast [writes](, wants to “bring women’s rights back to a pre-1960s state.” The GOP’s bogeymen in 2024 include, among others, abortion, birth control, and even women’s legal rights (read: the Republican bid to end no-fault divorce). Elsewhere, we’ve got eyes on the array of supporters backing Harris’s presidential bid. No, Taylor Swift hasn’t endorsed Harris yet. But, as Kase Wickman [notes](, the Swifties-for-Kamala campaign has been active, while “the world (especially Democratic organizers) waits with bated breath to see if Swift will throw her considerable cultural weight behind Harris.” Further afield, apparently [500 golf carts]( showed up to a Harris rally in the Villages, a conservative retirement community in Sumter County, Florida that has not voted for a Democratic candidate in a general election since 2000. Plus, on the “was Trump being serious” beat, Bess Levin [updates us]( on the ex-president’s latest promise to upend democracy. Thanks for reading.
