[View online]( [Velocity Frequent Flyer]( Mr {NAME} Red Velocity points 0 (as at 29 Sep 2024) Membership no. 1125782020 [A message from Jayne Hrdlicka][A message from Jayne Hrdlicka] Dear {NAME},   I am excited to share that the world’s best airline, Qatar Airways Group, is seeking approval to acquire a 25 per cent minority ownership stake in Virgin Australia.   This will significantly strengthen our existing partnership with Qatar Airways, one that has been in place since 2022.   Most importantly, today’s announcement will deliver stronger competition in Australia’s skies and create more choice and better value for you. There are many things for you to get excited about as a frequent traveller, including: - Expanded codeshare arrangements that will provide members with access to a greater range of international destinations; - Increased earn and redemption opportunities; - Broader access to great value fares; and - New areas of cooperation including Sustainable Aviation Fuel.   Subject to relevant regulatory approvals, Virgin Australia will launch flights from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney to Doha from mid-2025, connecting seamlessly into Qatar Airways’ global network1. These extra flights will be operated under wet-lease by Qatar Airways and will open up more than 100 new connecting itineraries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Australian travellers. I am also very proud of the entire team at Virgin Australia. Together they have done a wonderful job getting Virgin Australia back into a healthy, long term competitive position that has attracted the world's best airline as a prospective investor. Every member of our team has contributed to this terrific outcome, please thank them the next time you are flying. We look forward to sharing more information in due course. In the meantime, you can read more on the Virgin Australia Newsroom [here](.   Thank you for your continued loyalty.
