William “Spanky” Gibson, pictured above, who was wounded by a sniper in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006. He was the first above-the-knee amputee to return to active duty in Iraq, and his story is one of courage and determination. Most Americans would rather not think about service members being deployed or the dangers they face. But nearly 2.3 million active duty, National Guardsmen and Reservists stand ready to defend our country and need your support through the USO. We are determined to be there for them at a moment’s notice — throughout the world and here at home. Since World War II, the USO has stood beside our American heroes, just as they have stood for us. But the USO is not a government agency, we are a nonprofit organization, and we rely on the generosity of military supporters like you. [Will you support our service members by giving what you can so the USO can continue to strengthen the well-being of the people serving in America’s military and their families?](cz/U1VlVmdIei9iOTFSTnlSK2FoWGIyc0pNT2VYbGU4MEhrTVdRNFFFYnJ6OUMvclROZEhaTkh1bjNJQmJjeTNFeTMyOXcxcVN3cmxNVk1aZmxiaVd5am5Tc0EwendHV3FCUkg2Nk1QQlpEU009S0/c0pIVW9UOTF2Qk52Q2lwcUZoUCs2NkxMeXNUQ1FEVEFFc3JLcTRwclZhVT0S1) [DONATE $29]( [DONATE $58]( [DONATE ANOTHER AMOUNT]( From remote locations like Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras or Thule Air Base, 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle, we will keep thinking of new ways to support them.
