[USA for UNFPA]( I want to personally reach out and thank you and being a part of this community and for your incredible support this Giving Tuesday. Because of you, we reached our $150,000 goal and can continue to provide women and girls around the world with the lifesaving sexual and reproductive health care they need to survive — and thrive. Here’s just some of what your support has accomplished: - Faiza, a mental health counselor, was deployed to Afghanistan to support survivors of the earthquakes, many of whom lost several family members in the disaster. “They need someone to listen,” she shared. - Nikamiye received critical prenatal care in the Congo, where ongoing conflict has left millions of lives hanging in the balance. “I'm really happy. Pregnancy is a time of uncertainty, but with this machine I'm reassured, because I saw the baby move with my own eyes,” she said of receiving her first ultrasound. The refugee camp where Nikamiye gave birth has lost zero women to pregnancy and childbirth complications this year. - Elisabet, a new mother in Ethiopia and Dawit, her partner, accessed family planning counseling and resources. Empowered with information, they decided to wait to grow her family after their son was born. Elisabet explained, “We would like to take care of our baby. I also need time to gain my strength.” - Marija, a girl in Bangladesh, received the support she needed to stand up to the boys who were harassing her and causing her extreme anxiety and fear every time she went to school or out in her community. “Initially, I thought it was up to the girls to protect themselves by staying in groups or avoiding going out after dark. However, I realized that true change comes when both boys and girls are educated about gender equality, respect each other, and understand the legal consequences of harassment,” Marija said. Thank you so much for standing with women and girls like Faiza, Nikamiye, Elisabet, and Marija. Your support is deeply appreciated and is creating a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every woman and girl can reach her fullest potential. — Jacob Geers Director of Digital Fundraising and Engagement USA for UNFPA Just because Giving Tuesday is over, it doesn’t mean the urgent needs for your generous support slow down — especially as crises in regions like Gaza, the Congo, and Sudan continue to put women and girls in danger. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
