One way we can strengthen that connection is through daily Bible reading and devotionals that speak God’s truth into our hearts—setting aside intentional time with God’s Word to keep our minds focused on Him. I recently received a wonderful reminder of the importance of this practice from Timothy, a chaplain at Parkersburg Correctional Center in West Virginia. Timothy shared his morning routine before heading out to minister to inmates. Here’s what he wrote: “My day starts by reading your daily devotional email, followed by listening to your daily message. I need to renew my mind and spirit to help me minister to the inmates, and I lean on these things to help me. God is using your ministry to touch lives behind the razor wire. There are no boundaries to God’s love.” What a powerful reminder of God’s limitless love and how He reaches each of us wherever we are.
