Here’s how you can help {NAME}, Human trafficking isn't a distant issue confined to the shadows

Here’s how you can help {NAME}, Human trafficking isn't a distant issue confined to the shadows. It is an issue impacting communities across the globe. Currently 50 million people are experiencing human-trafficking, and 1 in 4 of these victims are under the age of 18. Human trafficking results from traffickers seeking and exploiting financially vulnerable individuals, such as those living in poverty, unemployed, or who are experiencing homelessness.  United Way is working in communities across the globe to combat human trafficking. [Please join us in supporting this work](. United Way brings anti-trafficking projects to scale by energizing, coordinating, and mobilizing the many organizations already working on the front lines. To create a truly effective movement, United Way is improving research, influencing policy, increasing philanthropy, filling gaps, engaging corporate stakeholders, promoting diversity and survivor inclusion, and advancing public awareness. Our congressional advocacy work has increased federal anti-trafficking appropriations by hundreds of millions of dollars, and that’s just the beginning.    “United Ways can – and do – use the power of local networks to serve as conveners, funding sources, and advocates deeply committed to eradicating human trafficking.”  -Angela F. Williams, President & CEO at United Way Worldwide    Across the world, we're empowering survivors like Jerry, a former victim who rebuilt his life with the support of an entrepreneurship training program at United Way Ghana. Jerry is now running a successful mobile money business, a career that both helps his community manage their finances and provides him with the financial stability to thrive. Jerry is now a beacon of hope, running a successful business and proving that resilience can triumph over exploitation. Jerry's story is just one of many survivor stories that was a result of the work that United Way and their partners are doing to combat human trafficking.   Every dollar you donate to United Way equips more survivors like Jerry with resources, raises awareness, and advocates for a future free from human trafficking.
