For nearly 15.6 million people last year 211 was the answer.    Every day 211 community resource specialists help people find the resources they need, right in their own community. People like Stephen in Maryland, who needed $132 to avoid homelessness. And Alex, a veteran in Texas, trying to find a job, access medical benefits, and get counseling services back home.     By connecting people in need with the best resources available to them, 211 addresses root causes and makes the social services ecosystem more efficient and effective, helping local resources go further. To change the deep-rooted beliefs and practices that maintain gender inequity, United Way Colombia's "I'm Fantastic" program unites young people and corporate volunteers through education and creativity. The program uses activity kits and a specially designed book to teach participants about gender inequality and help them imagine ways to fight it.
