IMPACT REPORT: 2 weeks of emergency Dear {NAME}, This month, many tragic events have affected people

IMPACT REPORT: 2 weeks of emergency [UNHCR The UN refugee Agency]( [Donate Now]( Dear {NAME}, This month, many tragic events have affected people forced to flee their homes. On 6 February, two devastating earthquakes struck near the Türkiye-Syria border, killing tens of thousands of people, with two more earthquakes striking just yesterday. And as you know, this month marks one year since the war in Ukraine began. I will update you on our ongoing response in Ukraine soon, but first I want to give you an update on our work in Türkiye and Syria. UNHCR has been working around the clock to help those affected. With our partners, thousands of people across the region have received emergency aid such as thermal blankets, mattresses, solar lamps and winter clothes. We saw so much heartbreak this last week — but we also saw this compassionate community come together to help. I want to make sure you know how our community's generosity and warmth has been put into action so far. In Syria As of 16 February, UNHCR and its partners have provided protection services to over 75,000 people in Aleppo. UNHCR has released 30,200 core relief item kits, 25,800 winter jackets and 11,400 winter clothing kits for distribution through partners to affected families in Aleppo, Latakia, Tartous, Hama and south Idleb Governorates. UNHCR continues to undertake field response monitoring assessments, with 49 collective shelters assessed to date. In Türkiye Emergency supplies are arriving in Türkiye via airlifts and road from UNHCR stockpiles to contribute to the national response effort for victims. As of last week, 15,000 tents, 21,000 hygiene kits, 19,500 kitchen sets, 25,500 high-thermal blankets, 14,000 mattresses, 10,000 tarpaulin, and various food water and hygiene packs have been delivered. Furthermore, 10,000 hygiene kits, almost 30,000 camping beds, 30,000 additional blankets, 30,000 sleeping bags, 27,000 sleeping mats, 11,200 jerry cans, 6,500 kitchen sets, over 5,000 solar lamps and over 2,600 tarps are due to arrive in the coming days. Sadly, the scale of this disaster is larger than anyone feared. Many people living in the earthquake zones had lost their homes once before as a result of the Syria conflict and are now facing displacement yet again — now they must rebuild completely, a process which will take months, if not years. [Please, if you can, join our aid efforts — to help these families who have lost everything](. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in providing them with the support they need to survive this difficult time.
