{NAME}, Today, we honor the courageous men and women who have served our country with unwavering bravery, commitment, and selflessness. As I reflect on the meaning of today, I am reminded of the courage it takes to serve, the sacrifices made, and the unwavering commitment to duty. Their bravery has paved the way for a safer, freer world, and for that, we owe them an immeasurable debt of gratitude. I have personally experienced the profound impact that service can have on a family. In my own family, there has been no exception. Before I enlisted in the military, I remember my father being in the peak of health – robust and lively. He actively participated in our community, even playing center field for our local softball team. This was the image I carried with me when I left, but he was not the same person I returned home to. I was taken aback to find my father had lost his sight, had undergone double amputation, and was now reliant on a wheelchair. Both my parents were also battling kidney failure. Witnessing my loved ones in such a condition was truly heartbreaking. Experiences such as these have profoundly shaped my commitment to advocating for veterans’ rights and ensuring that our heroes receive the care and support they deserve. Today, we remember not only their service but also the unwavering support of their families and loved ones. They have stood by them, providing strength, encouragement, and hope through the most challenging times. Their sacrifices are often unrecognized, but they are integral to the success and well-being of our veteran community. As a fellow veteran and as your candidate for United States Senate, I extend my deepest thanks to each and every one of you. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Together, we honor your legacy and strive to build a future worthy of your sacrifices. As we commemorate Memorial Day, let us also reaffirm our commitment to each other. Let us stand united, as we did in service, to support and uplift our veteran community. Together, we can build a future that honors your sacrifices and provides the opportunities, care, and support you so rightfully deserve. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication to our country. It is an honor to stand with you, and I am proud to be your advocate in this journey. May God bless you all, and may God bless the United States of America.
