Dear {NAME}, I'm a little biased, but I think we have the best team around. Tanganyika wouldn't exist without the dedicated care staff, maintenance technicians, guest engagement team, and the rest of our Tanganyika Family who work tirelessly in service of our guests and animal family. I know them all well, and wanted to give you all the chance to get to know them a little better too! Meet Erinn! Where are you from? I'm originally from San Jose, California. I moved to Kansas in 2004 to attend Kansas State University and I've been in Kansas ever since. How long have you worked with animals? I've been in the zoo world for about 19 years, with the last year and a half or so as a zookeeper. What inspired you town to work with animals? When I was about 10 years old, I was watching Animal Planet with my mom, and I saw "The Crocodile Hunter" for the first time. I told my mom that I wanted to be just like Steve Irwin....not that I want to jump on crocodiles or anything like that, but I could see how passionate he was about animals and the natural world, and I wanted to be able to educate people the same way he did. Ever since then, I knew that the zoo world was where I belonged. Being a zookeeper is hard! What keeps you going? The thing that really keeps me going is knowing that I'm making a difference. The work we do is making a direct impact on conservation - both through donations to our conservation partners and by connecting people to the natural world. It might sound a little corny, but I honestly believe that the work I'm doing is helping to save the planet. What’s your favorite thing to do at Tanganyika? I get to do a lot of really incredible things as a keeper, but my current favorite is the [Rhino Feeding Adventure](. Our crash of white rhinos - Dwight, Pam, Jan, and Meredith - each have such unique personalities and they're playful interactions certainly make it clear why a group of Rhinos is called a "crash." During that tour, I also get to talk about training medical behaviors and the kinds of things we do to improve animal welfare, so it's just a really fun tour overall. What’s an insider tip about the park you can share with our guests? We have two new habitats IN THE RESTROOMS at Tanganyika Falls this year! Guests that visit the men's restroom can see Ra, our 12-foot albino Burmese Python and guests that visit the women's restroom can see Rhubarb and Gizmo, two of our white-faced saki monkeys! Anything coming up at TWP that you’re really excited about? [Twilight Tour, our annual fundraiser,]( is coming up on Saturday June 15th. I've been here for every Twilight Tour we've had, and it's always a really fun event. Guests have the chance to go into most of our barns and behind-the-scenes areas and chat with the zookeepers about the animals. AES will be at the Wheel of Experiences - purchasing a spin gives guests the chance to go do a fun animal encounter that night like feeding the tigers, getting a painting from Franky the llama, or getting to hold an otter's hand. Plus, I'm helping put together paintings for the Art Walk this year, and I LOVE how they're turning out. It's going to be a really fun evening! Make sure to say "hi" if you see Erinn at the park! See you soon, Matt Fouts and Team Tanganyika 🐾 [Ultimate Weekend]( || [Spring Exclusive Experiences]( ||[Spend the Night at TWP]( [unsubscribe](
