Identify what works best for you. Is it putting your phone away and going to sit outside? Is it doing a guided meditation? Is it listening to a curated playlist while you move the stress out of your body? [Find balance.] Staying informed is crucial, but that doesnât mean you have to listen to the news 24/7. Feel free to mute social media accounts that are causing burnout, take breaks, and schedule time with friends and loved ones you feel at ease with. [Focus on tangible steps.] There is so much anxiety that comes with an election, mainly caused by the lack of control we feel. Focus on what you can do, rather than ruminating on all the things you canât. [Lean on your community. ] Take note of your safe people, and talk to them when that hurt becomes too much. Talk to those who donât need an explanation. Those who just get it. â Give yourself space today for all of it. To cry, laugh, scream into a pillow, or take a break from the news and noise.
