Stop browsing, start watching! The best TV shows and movies to watch on every screen WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r Hello! Sometimes (actually all the time) when I don’t know what to write about in this newsletter intro, [I visit a site that lists all the holidays](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r), even the ones made up by someone who got the necessary 25 signatures by standing outside a Wal-Mart or whatever it takes to make a holiday official nowadays, for a little inspiration. And today I learned that not only is it [National Purebred Dog Day](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r), but it’s also [International Doodle Dog Day](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r), a celebration of Poodle mixes. What happened here? There are 365 days in a year and the global dog community couldn’t even be bothered to check their calendars? Was this some sort of passive-aggressive maneuver by Doodle owners? It’s enough to make a dog nervous, honestly. Which also reminds me that today — no joke — is also the start of [Dog Anxiety Awareness Week](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r). The fireworks celebration is going to be great! Here’s what to watch this week. -Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r) WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r SERIES PREMIERES MONDAY AT 9/8C ON HBO, HBO MAX [White House Plumbers mixes history with tomfoolery](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r) Justin Theroux's big, glorious mustache should be enough to get you to watch White House Plumbers, but if you need some more information about the "plot," here you go: Theroux and Woody Harrelson star in this comedic series that goes behind the scenes of the Watergate scandal, spotlighting the two bumbling idiots who accidentally overturned Nixon's presidency while trying to protect it. [In his review](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r), Keith Phipps says, “As funny as White House Plumbers is, it's more than a little scary, too. Howard, Gordon and their various associates may be incompetent clowns, but they're incompetent clowns whose buffoonery nudged the levers of power more than once.” -Allison Picurro WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r SERIES PREMIERES THURSDAY ON NETFLIX [Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story dutifully expands one of Netflix’s most popular franchises](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r) Here's a no-brainer: a Bridgerton prequel series. Say less! This limited series tells the origin story of Queen Charlotte (played as an older woman by Golda Rosheuvel and as a young woman by India Ria Amarteifio), exploring her rise to power and her rocky (but still very steamy, of course) marriage to King George III (Corey Mylchreest). Early reviews are good, and you can keep up with all the [latest gossip on the series here](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r). -Allison Picurro WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r SEASON 3 PREMIERES THURSDAY ON HBO MAX [Is The Other Two TV’s most underrated comedy?](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r) I’m just going to assume you don’t know about The Other Two, a series that premiered on Comedy Central and has since made the move to HBO Max, so I’ll start from the beginning. Drew Tarver and Heléne Yorke star as Cary and Brooke Dubek, adult siblings living in the shadow of their teenage YouTube sensation younger brother, getting a taste of the big-time as peripheral accessories to his success while still trying to get their own entertainment careers off the ground. Needless to say, shenanigans ensue. What holds the show together is the positivity, because jealousy isn’t a part of the formula, as seeing the three sibs cuddling in bed is just as rewarding as watching Cary and Brooke fall flat on their faces. This show is hilarious, and you should definitely watch it. WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r SERIES PREMIERES THURSDAY ON PEACOCK [Raunchy comedy Bupkis shows what makes Pete Davidson tick](WNoU9WDFN:m:1:2364960064:B9E9EA1AEAD4456FFE7AD20A5F4306E1:r) To say Pete Davidson is polarizing might be an understatement, but he gets his turn to tell his side of the story in this raw, mostly autobiographical comedy in the vein of all those other shows comedians make about their lives. Here, he’s definitely Pete Davidson — former Saturday Night Live star and gossip fodder — but he’s keeping it real by living in his mom’s basement and hanging out with his predominantly Italian-American family in various boroughs. The premiere episode features a supremely disgusting opening scene and rowdy night that you’d expect from Davidson, while the excellent second episode features something you might not expect: a touching flashback to Pete’s life as a 7-year-old following the death of his firefighter father in the 9/11 attacks (taken straight from Pete’s real life). Pete Davidson made me tear up! I can’t believe it either. Davidson is joined by an eye-popping cast that includes Edie Falco, Joe Pesci, Bobby Cannavale, Brad Garrett, John Mulaney, Steve Buscemi, Jon Stewart, and even Al Gore. It’s too soon to say whether this is great all the way through, but the highlights are impressive. All eight episodes stream Thursday. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
