Funko, the collectible company known for its big-headed pop culture figurines that just sit there and do nothing, bought Mondo less than a year ago, and today it must have felt the pangs of regret, because it gutted Mondo and will no longer be making those sweet posters. If it's been a while since you watched Season 1 of Yellowjackets, which last aired new episodes in January 2022, let's refresh: It's a Lost-meets-Lord of the Flies plane crash drama about a high school girls soccer team stranded in the wilderness (which is potentially supernatural and definitely getting very cold) in the '90s, while the survivors deal with the fallout in the present. This season, the teens are coping with a brutal winter, and the adult survivors are reuniting with old teammates; Lauren Ambrose joins the cast as present-day Van, and Simone Kessell plays present-day Lottie. The show, about a corporate consultant who gets caught up in some grand conspiracies, is clearly aimed at those who miss Sutherland screaming “Damn!” as 24’s Jack Bauer and don’t mind a lot of suspension of disbelief. But it’s running at a redline pace, with more twists than Chubby Checker working at a pretzel factory in Tornado Alley. Is it ridiculous? Yes. Can it also be ridiculously fun? At times!
