Bloody, violent lengths! Swarm is going to divide the audience right down the middle, with many appreciating its tongue-in-cheek horror and statements on social media and pop culture, while others will wonder what the point of it all is. They’re kind of both right in this case. It’s a daring show that almost hits its mark, but comes close enough to make this newsletter. Experimental TV! Gotta love it. Bob Odenkirk stars as the titular Hank, the chairman of an English department at an underfunded college. He's teetering on the edge of a midlife crisis, not helped by the fact that absolutely everyone in his life seems to dislike him. If you've ever wanted to watch Odenkirk act like a big ol' jerk, this is the perfect show for you. In this goofy comedy, Matthew McConaughey steps out of his Lincoln to voice a version of Elvis Presley who also happens to be a government spy putting bad guys away. With its raunchiness and covert operations, it’s a lot like Archer, except this one has a gun-toting chimpanzee who loves cocaine. The great voice cast also includes Don Cheadle, Kaitlin Olson, Johnny Knoxville, Niecy Nash-Betts, Priscilla Presley, and Jason Mantzoukas.
