Chang (Bloom Li) is a sophomore in high school looking to shed his dorky image and get the new girl, but he gets in over his 5’8” head when he bets the school’s basketball star that he can dunk by the end of the school year. It’s a life lesson about stick-to-itiveness, family, and having goals, made all the more charming by its earnestness and underdog story. Plus: It’s a good way to meet Ben Wang, the star of Disney+’s excellent upcoming series American Born Chinese.
