Christopher Walken can add “destroyer of priceless art” to his résumé [after the actor painted over an original Banksy](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r) — the famed, anonymous street artist from England — while filming the BBC comedy The Outlaws. In the show’s finale, Walken, playing a crook who is performing community service, takes a paint roller to Banksy’s piece depicting spray painting rats, destroying it. Fear not, lovers of high-priced graffiti, that was always the plan as the art was commissioned specifically for the show and the destruction almost certainly came with Banksy’s blessing. With Banksy’s [other recent stunt shredding one of his pieces at auction](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r), the artist’s latest phase of ironic showmanship appears to be self-destruction, giving thought to the idea of the impermanence of art and the lofty prices we put on it. Headlining the event is the streaming debut of the Marvel movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which is much, much better than The Eternals, and Jungle Cruise, a movie based on a bunch of animatronic hippos and wisecracking tour guides. Also available are shorts and behind-the-scenes specials for Star Wars, Pixar, The Simpsons, and more. And if you have eight quarters somewhere in your couch, you can grab a month of D+ over the weekend. The streamer is enticing new subscribers [with a special introductory month for $2, available now through Sunday](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r). At that rate, you get four episodes of The Simpsons for one penny! s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r NOW ON NETFLIX [Red Notice is fun, empty blockbuster sizzle](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r) The critics will tell you that Netflix’s new movie [is a stinker that should be avoided](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r). I’d counter that it runs on enough megawatts of Hollywood star power to mine two whole Bitcoins, rendering any criticism pointless. Dwayne Johnson plays an FBI agent who teams up with an art thief (Ryan Reynolds) to catch the world’s most-wanted art thief (Gal Gadot), and rumor has it Netflix forked over more than $200 million for the action comedy, its most expensive yet. There are explosions and wisecracks. What more do you need? It’s Friday; watch The Rock fight a bull and Gal Gadot beat up goons with priceless artifacts while wearing a slinky red dress. Don’t pretend you’re above this. If one big Rock-buster movie isn’t enough for you, Jungle Cruise is also out on Disney+ today. s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r SERIES PREMIERE NOW ON APPLE TV+ [The Shrink Next Door will get in your head](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r) Like a really dark Anchorman reunion, Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell star as psychiatrist and patient, respectively, in this dark miniseries based on a true story that isn’t quite as funny as you’d expect given the stars involved. Rudd plays Dr. Ike Herschkopf, and Ferrell plays Marty Markowitz, a fabric store owner who feels out of control in his own life. The longer the two work together, the darker things get, the blurrier the boundaries become, and it quickly becomes clear, to everyone but Markowitz, that his therapist is taking advantage of him. Kathryn Hahn and Casey Wilson co-star, and the show is written by Succession's Georgia Pritchett. And even though it's not as good as we had hoped, if you've ever wanted to see beloved actors wear bushy eyebrow wigs, now is your chance! -Allison Picurro s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r

Now we have to catch up with these castaways later in life after they're rescued. It was true for Lost, it was true for Amazon's The Wilds, and now it's true for Showtime's Yellowjackets, which follows a high school girls soccer team that gets stranded on an island when their plane crashes. Decades later, the adult versions of the girls — played by Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, and Tawny Cypress — are hiding many secrets, and the fun of the show, which is told across both timelines, is figuring what happened on the island and who *gulp* got eaten on the island. It's pretty heavy, but it also has fun with that heaviness and is the best new release of the weekend. s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r WATCH THE HOLIDAYS GO BY [The best new holiday movies include kittens and Nintendos](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r) The holiday season doesn’t officially start until you’ve seen your first Hallmark Christmas movie and knocked over a glass of red wine, so take care of that first part with [our list of the best new Christmas movies of 2021](s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r). Most of these aren’t great movies by any stretch of the imagination; these are formulaic holiday films that are as predictable as your dad saying, “See you next year!” on the night of New Year’s Eve. But that very specific comfort is the point. Whether it’s on Hallmark, Lifetime, Netflix, HBO Max, or somewhere else, you’ll find two hours of saccharine yuletide within. s9F1GyHbN:m:1:2364960064:6BF74147387E557E928E9226369BA471:r
