And there’ve also been 3 other winners… First up, Charlotte who’s renowned for entering and winning competitions which require lots of effort (as opposed to just an online entry form). Statistically, “effort” competitions receive far fewer entries so the chances of winning are greatly increased. “I’m very happy to have won the IHG One Million competition where you had to say how you would spend 1 million IHG hotel points (I submitted a stop motion animation video and accompanying poem about a tour of SE Asia staying at their various hotel brands). The prize of a million points is worth over £4000 of hotel stays, covering 18 hotel brands such as Intercontinental, Holiday Inn and Iberostar so I have a lot of choice!” Some of Charlotte’s other wins have included a pair of return Business Class flights to the Philippines worth £4,500, a £5,000 holiday to Cape Town, Kruger and Victoria Falls, and a 7-night holiday to Barbados for 2 with flights, hotel and excursions included. Leah discovered she’d won a Bridgman competition and will be receiving a waterproof Windsor bronze garden dining set and ‘Sparkling Summer Afternoon Tea for Two’ at Piglet’s Pantry. And two group members won holidays for their friends by nominating them in a Tanrhiw Glamping competition. There were five prizes being given away in total, and Maria’s friend Jodie and Tania’s friend Lucy will be enjoying a 2-night Welsh glamping getaway. Finally this week, to “extra-lucky” Dan… “Just got back from enjoying our Leeds List prize, which included a 2 night stay at the Junction. The Junction was like serviced apartments where they had guest rooms so it was a good base for all the other elements of the prize... Which was mainly food!! We had a large meal at a hip Chinese restaurant, drinks and food at a bar, brunch at a trendy restaurant, bowling, pizza and drinks at Roxy Lanes and a Sunday lunch at the oldest public house in Leeds. There was also a shopping voucher for the shopping centre included and then I used another prize that I won recently with Old J Spiced Rum to go axe throwing as they had a location in Leeds. All in all, a fun weekend, but we also got lucky recently with a baby on the way, which meant it was really hard to spend the amount of some of the dining vouchers as my wife couldn't enjoy cocktails, so had to stick with cheaper drinks!” Congratulations to Charlotte, Leah, Jodie, Lucy and, of course, Lucky Dan. We think it's important that we're transparent about the value our service can bring you, but also the limitations of this email and our website. We're journalistic at heart, with the aim of helping you to save on travelling and holidays. We do this by seeking out great travel and holiday deals, tips and competitions. We do not offer any travel products or services ourselves - we signpost you to those that do via links. While we are careful to always cover reputable companies that are ABTA bonded, we're not perfect, so remember that you use this information at your own risk and we can't accept liability if things go wrong. So if we don't offer any travel products ourselves, how do we sustain the service? Many of our links are affiliated which means that if you purchase a product or service via these links, a small contribution may be made to Travelscoop. You shouldn't notice any difference, as these links don't impact the products at all. If we're unable to get a contribution from a company, we'll still include the link anyway - it's important to us that we cover the whole market. Lastly, do not construe the information contained in this email and on our website as financial advice. Always do your own research to ensure a product or service is right for you and your individual circumstances. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
