It feels weird describing them as mountains—partly because they’re all just electrons, but also because mountains are far better organised than any of my notes—virtual or not. Anyways, when I need a reset, Skye and I go wandering for an hour, generally just wandering the rice fields that surround the shack. The fields are flooded in preparation for planting at the moment, so while we need to watch our step, the perils do occupy the mind more than fully—which is sort of the purpose of our undertaking. The farmers have little lean-to shelters higgledy piggledy across the expanse of fields back off the beach and sitting in one of those—me observing and Skye snapping at flies—the piece I’m featuring this week came to mind, and gives the newsletter its theme.
