If you believe Vice President Kamala Harris will win the election, you may want to invest in all things green. That includes green energy and cannabis. With cannabis, according to Marijuana Moment, “Kamala Harris called for the legalization of marijuana — signaling a possible shift in the administration’s platform heading into the November elections. Harris told a room of cannabis pardon recipients at the White House on Friday that ‘we need to legalize marijuana,’ a participant in the meeting has revealed.” If that’s the case, investors may want to jump into cannabis stocks such as: Innovative Industrial Properties (IIPR) One of the best ways to profit from the potential is with a real estate investment trust (REIT), such as Innovative Industrial Properties. The company focuses on acquisition, and management of state-licensed cannabis operators. It owns 108 properties across 19 states with 8.9 million rentable square feet. Better, IIPR carries a current yield of 6.44%. So, not only can we collect that yield, we can make money from appreciation as the cannabis story heats up. Green energy stocks could do well with Harris supportive of the Inflation Reduction Act. If you believe she’ll win, you may want to bet heavily on green stocks, such as: Tesla (TSLA) Analysts at Morgan Stanley just named TSLA a top pick in the auto sector. With an overweight rating and a price target of $310 on the stock, the firm noted TSLA may be “cornering the market on ZEV (zero-emission vehicle) credits and has seen increased contribution from recurring services revenue.” [Read More]( [Leveraged Carry Trade]( by [Kathy Lien]( The leveraged carry trade strategy is one of the favorite trading strategies of global macro hedge funds and investment banks. It is the quintessential global trade. In a nutshell, the carry trade strategy entails going long or buying a high-yielding currency or selling a shorting low-yielding currency. Aggressive speculators will leave the exchange rate exposure un-hedged, which means that the speculator is betting that the high-yielding currency is going to appreciate in addition to earning the interest rate differential between the two currencies. For those who hedge the exchange rate exposure, although interest differentials tend to be rather small, on the scale of 1 to 5 percent, if traders factor in 5 to 10 times leverage, the profits from interest rates alone can be substantial. Just think about it: A 2.5 percent interest rate differential becomes 25 percent on 10 times leverage. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. Also, the hypothetical results do not include the costs of subscriptions, commissions, or other fees. Simulated trading services in general are also designed with the benefit of hindsight, which may not be relevant to actual trading. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. No representation is being made that any person providing a testimonial is likely to continue to experience profitable trading after the date on which the testimonial was provided, and in fact the person providing the testimonial may have experienced losses. 8) The author experiences are not typical.
