But the only “feature” we had specifically designed for team collaboration was centralized billing. 🙃 Until now.   Last month, we finally gave teamwork in Todoist some much-needed love with the full rollout of [team workspaces]( to everyone!   Whether you’re already a team user, are team-curious, or are perfectly-happy-using-Todoist-by-yourself-thank-you-very-much, scroll on to learn what these new collaborative features mean for you.   Want to keep using Todoist on your own?   No worries! The simple yet powerful personal task manager you know and love isn’t going anywhere. As with all of Todoist’s power features, team workspaces are there if you need them and out of the way if you don’t.   A shared home for your team’s work   [Personal projects and team projects stay separate but in the same Todoist interface]  When you add a team to Todoist, you’ll get a shared team workspace to simplify and organize work together – alongside but separate from everyone’s personal tasks and projects.   You’ll be able to:   - Share work seamlessly. All members can preview, join, and create new projects in your team workspace (unless they’re explicitly set to private). - Keep your personal stuff private. Everything under “My Projects” in your sidebar is just for you!   The upshot:   All the tasks you’re responsible for will live in one calm and uncluttered place – where you can group and filter by personal or team tasks without having to switch between apps or accounts.   For example, see just your team tasks due today and hide your personal tasks for later. Or vice versa.   [Group or filter tasks by personal or team projects in Today, Upcoming, or any other filter view. ]  There are so many new things packed into this update – guest access, project folders, project previews, sharing work via link, new admin controls – just to name a few.   Instead of reading an even longer email (🙈), let the ever-capable Rain walk you through it all in 4 minutes and 37 seconds flat:   [ Got questions?   We’ve put together [a comprehensive team FAQ]( to answer all your common queries – like “What makes teams different from shared projects?” (A lot!) and “Why can’t I rearrange projects in my team workspace!?!” (The inescapable finitude of time – but it’s on our list of future improvements. 💪)   A team task manager built for individual productivity, too   Our goal for team workspaces was to build a seamless experience that, yes, enables better teamwork, but also empowers the individual at the core of the team to organize and prioritize everything on their plate.   That’s why when you upgrade your team to [the Business plan]( all members automatically get all personal Pro features – like reminders, task durations, and calendar layout – in their team and personal projects.   After all, when your teammates are organized and on top of their personal to-dos, teamwork magically tends to flow smoother, too. 💆   Each team comes with 5 free projects. Upgrade to [the Business plan]( as your needs grow.   Resources for getting started with your team   [( Wondering what teamwork in Todoist even looks like? We’ve got you covered:   - Follow along as our founder and CEO, Amir, walks through [how he uses Todoist]( to stay on top of his team and personal tasks. (As the leader of a 100-person company and a father of 3 very active kiddos, he’s got a lot to stay on top of. 😅) - Check out our [snackable video tips for teams]( that highlight the features our own team uses every day – like this [“template task” hack]( from our Lead Brand Designer Stephen. - Import our [team project templates]( so you don’t have to start from scratch. We’ve got everything from meeting agendas to project trackers to product pipelines, and more.   ---------------------------------------------------------------   This update is the next evolution of teamwork in Todoist, but it’s just the start. We’ll be leaning on your feedback to make sure we’re building the things you and your team actually need (without eroding what you already love about the app).   Go ahead and [add a team for free]( to try it out, and use the feedback button at the top of your team workspace to let us know what you want to see next! 👀   Productively,   Check out our [What’s New page]( for more recent features and improvements – like new ways to customize your views.
