I can’t really encourage you to vote now, since it’s now Wednesday where you are, but it is my sincerest wish that you turned out to vote yesterday and that you’re still glowing with pride about the “I Voted” sticker selfie you posted upon leaving your polling place. Even if you just wrote in “Tom Cruise back during the Jerry Maguire era” for every category on the ballot, that still counts for something, and I really appreciate you exercising your right. Well, actually, on second thought, that’s not really a very informed or responsible approach to the democratic process, so fingers crossed you chose a candidate that’s actually running and isn’t a fictional entity. But enough of that; I’ll get off my soapbox and let you get to it. Today we’ve got a beautiful autumnal cornucopia of content just for you, from one of our favorite Caribbean paradises to some cookbooks that would make excellent holiday gifts for the chef in your life, to a delicious grape tarragon spritzer beverage, to a way to turn Lyft rides into flight miles, to all the best holiday gifts for that special, unique gourmand in your life. I hope someone thinks I’m the gourmand in their life, even though my favorite food is Parmesan Goldfish and Arizona iced tea… If you’ll excuse me, I have to continue art directing my own “I Voted” sticker selfie. The professional ring light and tripod are not going to set up themselves. I have to do everything around here! [-Ned Riseley, Senior Copywriter]( [ [( Travel [] [There’s Plenty to Love About Turks and Caicos]( We’ve done the difficult and harrowing work of exploring the magic of Turks and Caicos and determining all the most idyllic and incredible ways to make the most of this island paradise. From the soft white sand to the turquoise water to the chance to spoon with a giant turtle to the spooky and mystical Conch Bar Caves and beyond, Turks and Caicos is my dream come true, and probably yours too. Forget the vacation, I’m tryna live down there and become a full-on tropical shirt-wearing beach bum. Check out everything it has to offer, from underwater caves to some of the most delicious seafood in the sea. [] [Not just Turks, but Caicos as well]( [( [( FOOD & DRINK [] [The 12 Cookbooks of Christmas]( Forget the turtle doves, pipers piping, lords a-leaping, and all that other stuff, why not celebrate the “12 days of Christmas,” with 12 cookbooks that will give your winter incredible flavor?! These are all the cookbooks coming out this season that we are most excited about, and will take your dinner parties all over the world, from Romania to southern Italy to Mexico to Switzerland. Learn how to make some “snow food,” some amazing cocktails that don’t actually have any booze in them, and desserts from [everyone’s favorite deep thinker](, Claire Saffitz. [] [And a partridge in a pear tree]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( food & drink [] ['Black Food' by Bryant Terry Is a Love Letter to Black Foodways and Collaboration]( Composed of recipes and writing from 100 different Black writers, Bryant Terry’s new cookbook, Black Food, celebrates the dishes and flavors of the African diaspora, connecting writers and chefs in a nourishing culinary conversation. It’s an ambitious collaboration and a love letter to the Black community’s foodways that seamlessly blends recipes, poetry, essays, and art. Read our conversation with Terry about the book and take a peek at his grape tarragon spritzer recipe, a truly herbaceous and delicious mocktail made in collaboration with chef Gregory Gourdet. Now, if you connect your Alaska Airlines account with your Lyft account online, you could get double the miles on every dollar you spend taking a Lyft up to the end of the year. As if you needed another reason to take a Lyft, now you could also be racking up some miles in the process. [] [Sign me up]( [( [( shopping [] [Gifts for the Gourmand in Your Life]( We all have a special person in our lives who goes absolutely wild for the fanciest feast at the grocery store. Whether they salt the pasta water for their Kraft Mac and Cheese with Maldon sea salt or are more partial to slathering their Wonder Bread with Wilderness Poets Raw Pistachio Butter, we know the gourmand in your life will love these gift ideas. Maybe if you give them a French charcuterie party box or an organic mushroom growing kit, they’ll finally stop trying to convince you to make your own kombucha at home. I’m just playing; I love gourmands and the totally extra foods they eat. It’s time to show these adventurous eaters that you love them and that you’ve done your research on the best hot sauces and sardine samplers on the market. ‘Tis the season, after all.
