It feels like years because it has been years. It was good to be back, this time with a mask, but I made the mistake of scrambling so quickly to find a seat that I sat in the one seat in the car with no window. It was just a wall. Imagine, the joy of train travel—with nothing but a wall to look at. So, I stared at the wall and pretended that it was a rapidly changing coastline. Just kidding, I didn’t stare at the wall. I stared at my book, trying to make it less boring, waiting for the page that would have everything I needed on it… but it never came. I must write that page myself, dear reader, and maybe find a new book, or wait ‘til my attention span has improved. Today’s newsletter is packed to the gills with the kinds of stories that you don’t get every day. Topical, readable, scintillating. We have an article about traveling to Portugal, one about the “Great Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Heist” (the best name for a bourbon heist I’ve ever heard), a “gayborhood” in Phoenix, a $100,000 prize to travel around the world, and finally, an outdoor gear sale to end all outdoor gear sales. I’m off to enjoy nature and explore the possibilities of Wednesday. Maybe I’ll get swept up in an adventure of some kind. Maybe I’ll listen to my audiobook about “rewiring your anxious brain.” Maybe I’ll get lost in a daydream about the “Great Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Heist.” So many possibilities, so little time! Lovingly yours, -[Ned Riseley, Newsletter Contributor]( [ [( travel [] [What Are You Doing? Why Aren’t You in Portugal Right Now?]( You heard me correctly.
