  They are making the oil trade so dirty, {NAME}, Olive Oil or Avocado Oil… Which one is better? Which one was I a bigger fan of during my fat loss phase 10 years ago? The Answer : It depends. They’re both very healthy oils with tons of benefits, but you need to make sure you’re buying the right kind. Olive Oil When I went through my 100lb weight loss, I heavily consumed olive oil. It was my primary source of fat besides cheese and bacon lol. There’s a couple reasons why it is so effective for fat loss: 1. Olive oil contains an ingredient called oleic acid that draws fat out of your tissues. Once in your body, oleic acid converts into a compound scientists call OEA. It’s ractically magic stuff—a powerhouse nutrient that mobilizes fat out of your tissues so you burn it off much more easily (as long as you oxidize it and do the work). 2. Olive oil is also an amazing hunger reducer. As reported in Science Daily, research at the University of Vienna has shown that among all foods tested, "Olive oil had the biggest satiety effect." This is why Prevention magazine has hailed extra virgin olive oil ("EVOO" for short) as "The #1 food to feel full." But… Olive oil gets a bad rap because you "can’t cook with it." I’ve even said that in some of my past youtube videos… But truth be told, you can cook with it, if you’re buying the right type… but that’s what is most important to know… Just as notorious crime families pocket fortunes by creating cheap knockoffs of designer clothing and handbags, they palm off fake olive oil as extra virgin, the highest grade. The New Yorker magazine has reported that the profits in counterfeiting olive oil are "comparable to some recreational drug trafficking, with none of the risks." I’m hoping this can start to change and this can be enforced better. Truth is, real olive oil You can cook up to 420°F using true extra virgin olive oil. Extra virgin means the olives were picked and immediately cold pressed after. Extra virgin olive oil is also high in oleic acid which gives you a huge fat-burning effect. The problem is that 80% of "Extra Virgin" Olive Oil on the market isn’t actually extra virgin, it’s just regular olive oil. And regular olive oil is not healthy in any way… There’s a few ways to tell if you’re buying the real stuff : - It MUST be in a dark bottle. If it’s not in a dark or metal bottle, it’s fake. - Check the bottle for a "pressed" or "crushed" date, not a "best by" date. - It’s over $10. - There’s an inert gas like Nitrogen added to help preserve it. - There will be a story on the bottle (where the olives are sourced, the crushing process, etc.) Another weird way to tell is to just take a little sip of it. If you feel a weird tingling sensation on the back of your throat, you’re good to go. If not, the oil has been oxidized and isn’t extra virgin… I use an olive oil from my friend, TJ Robinson who literally hunts the world for top olive oils. Literally harvested every season and then he air freights it to customers so it is as fresh as possible. Right now, he is offering up a bottle of his olive oil for $1 so that people try it out. Sounds crazy, but it’s his way of getting people hooked on the GOOD STUFF. I’d recommend you give it a shot if you’re looking for the right olive oil. It’s usually done through expeller pressing, so it gets a natural filtration and pressing that will preserve the nutrients. This means Avocado Oil will be cheaper, but it won’t be as powerful as Olive Oil. Bottom line is, Avocado oil has less scumbags trying to scrap it for profit, BUT, it’s not nearly the antioxidant profile of Olive Oil. So I love avocado oil, but it’s just a cooking oil, doesnt really get me much benefit. In fact, I put olive oil on top of my avocados! The Verdict – Olive Oil or Avocado Oil? When it comes to the health benefits, extra virgin olive oil is the clear choice, if it’s actually extra virgin. Any olive oil that isn’t extra virgin should be avoided like the plague. It’s going to oxidize horrendously and cause potential damage to your body. Avocado oil is the safer bet. It’s cheaper and still healthy, but nowhere near as potent as extra virgin olive oil. So if you can spend the money and are willing to do some work to make sure you’re buying good olive oil, then I would 100% go that route instead of avocado oil.
