There was a study just published in PLOS1 that looked at how CBD was reducing gut inflammation.
Many gastrointestinal disorders—such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis—are driven by chronic inflammation.
CBD is showing promise in reducing this inflammation by interacting with the endocannabinoid system (ECS). - Mechanism: CBD binds to CB1 and CB2 receptors in the ECS, both of which are expressed in the gut. CB2 receptors, in particular, are found in immune cells and are involved in mediating anti-inflammatory effects.
