Indonesia is moving its capital from Jakarta to Nusantara, located in the jungles of East Kalimantan province on Borneo Island. The new name was chosen from dozens of options by President Joko Widodo, who first announced the decision in 2019, and is the [Javanese name for the Indonesian archipelago](. The current capital, Jakarta, is located on the island of Java and is literally sinking. Itâs a congested city of 10 million people that sees regular flooding, and the extraction of groundwater has made it one of the fastest sinking cities in the world, with parts of it dropping [almost 10 inches every year](. The relocation is a $32.5 billion megaproject, which parliament approved on Tuesday. Hong Kong
Authorities in Hong Kong are planning to kill around 2,000 small animals, including many hamsters, after finding that several of them [tested positive for the coronavirus](. An employee was also infected at the pet store where the virus was detected in the animals. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said that the city will also stop the sale of hamsters and the import of small mammals. Two groups of the infected hamsters recently [arrived in Hong Kong from the Netherlands](. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said that animals do not appear to play a significant role in spreading the coronavirus, but Hong Kong says itâs not ruling out the possibility of transmission. The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen has [launched airstrikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa](. It comes after Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for drone attacks a day before on the capital of the United Arab Emirates, in which one Pakistani and two Indian migrant workers were killed. Mondayâs drone attacks struck several oil storage tankers, as well as a site near Abu Dhabi International Airport. Houthi forces say that at least 20 people died in the airstrikes on the Yemeni capital.
