Wirecutter picks that have withstood the test of time Rozette Rago Even a headphones expert stans a practical earbud. by Lauren Dragan In a house filled with headphones options, the [Jabra Elite 75t]( earbuds are the ones I reach for most often because they’re simply more pleasant to use than the competition. Although they’re relatively new, the Jabra Elite 75t earbuds build on the success of their predecessor, the Jabra Elite 65t—which were the first true wireless earbuds we recommended over traditional (cord-between-the-ears) Bluetooth earbuds. These earbuds serve as my office headset for clear phone calls and video conferences because their four microphones effectively reduce noise. Most other true wireless earbuds have only two microphones and often pick up every little sound. The Jabra Elite 75t earbuds’ smaller form makes them more comfortable to wear than many true wireless earbuds, yet they still feel secure in your ears. Two large buttons (one on each earbud) give you access to all the controls you need, so you can tuck your phone away in your pocket or purse. You get 7½ hours of battery life per charge, and the small charging case is also easy to tuck away. Although they’re relatively new, the Jabra Elite 75t earbuds build on the success of their predecessor. The 75t earbuds sound great, and you can tailor the sound profile to your liking via Jabra’s app. They are also rated IP55 water- and dust-resistant (here’s more on [why that’s impressive]( so I can also count on them to provide my musical motivation at the gym. These earbuds are so versatile and portable, they’re nearly always in my pocket or bag when I leave the house. I love that they provide me with a break from the world when I need it, yet a single tap enables the hear-through mode when I need to have a conversation (or to keep an ear on the kiddo as I do dishes and catch up on an audiobook). Even though I adore using the 75t, nearly all true wireless earbuds currently come with a downside: [the ecological impact](. If I could influence the next generation of headphones, my dream earbuds would include replaceable batteries and better recycling practices. Until then, I’m going to take very good care of my 75t earbuds so they’ll last me until the next great headphones innovation. When to buy Since these earbuds are still relatively new, it’s hard to determine specific sales patterns. But we expect to see the best sales on Black Friday and Prime Day, along with scattered deals on refurbished models throughout the year. The numbers $180 Average street price $150 Best price we’ve ever seen Make it last To ensure that your earbuds last a long time, [keep them clean]( and free of debris, never put them into their charging case (or plug in the case) while they’re still wet, [don’t store the charging case plugged in]( after it’s fully charged, and never leave the earbuds in a very hot or cold environment (like a car trunk) for long periods.
