So far this week we’ve [pondered the future of luxury hotels]( and gawked at some [over-the-top hotel buffets]( that will make your mouth water. On the personal front, I was recently added as an authorized user to my partner’s [The Platinum Card® from American Express]( and I’m excited to see how it ups my travel game. With a lot of big international trips planned through the end of the year, I’m particularly excited to [check out some international lounges]( I haven’t been to before. Getting automatic Hilton Honors Gold status was also a big win because I was still working my way up Hilton’s ladder and have a Hilton stay coming up where I can see how (or if) it compares to my other elite statuses. As an authorized user, I had to call the number on my card to register for the Priority Pass, Hilton and Marriott benefits. However, it took less than 10 minutes and those accounts reflected the changes within a few hours. But probably one of the biggest perks for me is finally having access to the [American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts]( program, which offers some great perks like daily breakfast for two, guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout and a room upgrade if available.
