Also: Online passport renewal is now widely available September 19, 2024 [THE POINTS GUY]( [View in browser]( [TPG Daily Newsletter]( Together With [Partner Logo]( [THE POINTS GUY]( Together With [Partner Logo]( Traveling around the world by Katie Genter, Senior Writer [TPG | Hero Image] If you’re interested in seeing the world, a round-the-world ticket that lets you visit multiple destinations in one trip may be the perfect option. Round-the-world tickets are often expensive. But savvy award travelers can [use points and miles to book a round-the-world ticket]( for significantly less out-of-pocket cost. For example, you can book a Star Alliance round-the-world award ticket with up to 12 flights and eight stopovers through [ANA Mileage Club](. The mileage cost of this award will depend on the distance of your itinerary; for example, an itinerary with flights totaling 11,001 to 14,000 miles would be 60,000 miles in economy or 90,000 miles in business — and you’ll need to pay taxes and fees on your award. You may not have points or miles with the program you want to use to book your round-the-world ticket. But that’s OK, as you can transfer rewards from one or more of the major [programs with transferable currencies]( to many of the programs. For example, you can transfer American Express Membership Rewards points and Marriott Bonvoy points to ANA Mileage Club. I recommend spending weeks, if not months, traveling on a round-the-world ticket. But if you want to see what a round-the-world trip in seven days looks like, check out [TPG’s newest video](. Nicky Kelvin and Liam Spencer travel around the world in different directions on SkyTeam airlines, sharing the flight and aircraft details along the way.
