Plus, last call: Earn 75,000 of the most valuable points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred June 12, 2024 [THE POINTS GUY]( [View in browser]( [TPG Daily NEWSLETTER]( [THE POINTS GUY]( Best US airlines of 2024 by David Slotnick, Senior Aviation Reporter [TPG | Hero Image] If you've been to the airport in the past couple of weeks, you've seen it for yourself: Summer travel is kicking off in full force. With crowds taking to the skies, vacationers hoping for good weather and everyone looking for a deal, you might wonder: Are you better off flying any one particular airline this summer and throughout the year? According to TPG's latest analysis, the answer might be yes. Last night, we released our [annual report on the best U.S. airlines]( analyzing extensive data from a range of sources — including the Department of Transportation, the Securities and Exchange Commission, information published by the airlines and real-time fare availability — to rank the 10 biggest airlines in the country. For the sixth year in a row, Delta Air Lines took first place. But what was surprising was that Delta wasn't the best performer in most of the categories and subcategories we used in our analysis. Instead, Delta performed reliably near the top of almost every factor we considered, boasting a consistency that the other airlines couldn't match. Overall, 2023 was a year of relative stability and continued recovery from the last of the post-coronavirus-lockdown hiccups — there weren't any big shocks. Alaska Airlines came in second, followed by United Airlines, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. Frontier Airlines came in last, by quite a lot.
