Also: Delta debuts premium economy between New York and LA, mixed news for elites June 11, 2024 [THE POINTS GUY]( [View in browser]( [TPG Daily NEWSLETTER]( [THE POINTS GUY]( Deals are out there by Ben Smithson, Senior Writer [TPG | Hero Image] It seems everyone is in or planning to travel to Europe right now, whether to [attend Taylor Swift’s "The Eras Tour"]( (at a fraction of the cost of U.S. tickets) or the upcoming [Paris Olympics](. The summer months are the busiest of the year for flights across the Atlantic, with prices normally reaching $1,000-plus round-trip in economy. This is a great opportunity to redeem points and miles, but availability can be tough to come by. However, this summer, we have seen an [unusually high number of cash, points and miles deals]( as my colleague Sean Cudahy reports. Saver-level seats are released for business-class travel 30-60 days in advance. The best rates we’ve seen are mostly on international carriers like Air France and KLM. You can book through the Flying Blue program and [snag a business-class seat for just 50,000 miles]( to France, which is an exceptional deal. At a slightly higher (but still excellent) price, United Airlines and Swiss also [released a significant number of business-class seats]( last week to various destinations in Europe, which could be booked for as little as 63,000 Avianca LifeMiles (you can [transfer most credit card points]( to LifeMiles at a 1:1 rate). We’ll keep you updated on any additional deals we spot, or you could consider investing in an [external monitoring tool like Seats.aero]( which quickly shows you every seat available with miles through major programs. You can filter results to only show certain carriers, redemption rates, dates and destinations. Many programs will release seats for redemptions at the last minute (up to 14 days in advance). Multiple airlines dropped cash prices for round-trip economy fares last week, and [deals were starting at $359 round-trip to Europe]( — start looking now for availability in August. The [Google Flights Explore tool]( is also a great way to find similar deals if you are flexible on your destination. So, if you are hoping to get away to Europe this summer but haven’t yet booked flights, you’ll need to be flexible, but it’s not too late.
