Chart your course for the coming week with this edition of the FogCutter! Here’s what we got on deck for you today: 💣 Amazon Jumps 6% on Strong Q3 Earnings Beat 📈 💣 October Job Growth Hits Slowest Pace Since 2020 🐌 💣 Video: Adjustments on Market Pullbacks ($ABNB Example) Markets At A Glance🔎 As of November 4, 2024, 10:00 AM MST Treasure Hunting Climate 📈 Welcome back! This week the markets will have some major news to digest. On top of reacting to the election, we also have the FOMC Meeting where the Fed will announce any interest rate decision on Thursday. Interest rate futures are pricing in the expectation of a 25 basis point cut. Like usual, the focus will be on any sentiment change/shift in the future policy outlook. Also keep in mind that the month of November begins the "Best Six Months" of market performance. However, with the weakness we saw last week, and the S&P 500 dipping down to the 50-day moving average, we are turning down the Treasure Hunting Score just a bit here. With the volatility that is bound to hit this week, we want to take more of a defensive mindset to navigate these choppy waters. If we can make it through the week with most of the trends intact we can look to ride the next bullish wave. Especially if the market seems to like the election and Fed policy news. Buckle up! See you next week! View From The Crow's Nest 👀 Amazon Jumps 6% on Strong Q3 Earnings Beat 📈 Amazon stock jumped 6% after Q3 earnings beat estimates with $1.43 EPS on $158.9B revenue. The company forecasts Q4 revenue up to $188.5B and operating income up to $20B, slightly above projections.
