The S&P 500 didn't get back to its all-time highs from the end of September, but that will be the next level we want to see the major index clear to keep showing strength. (Higher highs will confirm the technical uptrend) As a reminder, October has historically struggled in election years and we can't help but have that in our thoughts. We also have earnings season upon us which can add volatility. This week could give us an idea if the shorter-term bullish trend will try to resume or if some weakness and indecision starts to rattle the markets.
