[Here’s how this remarkable arrangement works…]( This Week’s Watchlist Is Quick… Yet Slow The markets continue to be volatile and twitchy; the VIX has spent most of the last five sessions above 20 and a good chunk of that time above 22. Back in reality, the American consumer continues to be stretched thinner… and thinner. Under these conditions, you might expect a slowdown in the leisure stocks and that’s basically what we’re seeing. So this is a mixed-to-bearish watchlist. Las Vegas Sands (LVS) is proving the point. Today, price broke out of a double top formation and now LVX is set to drop 8% to 10% . I expect we’ll see a test of $44, a drop of nearly $7 (or 14%) in the next week While the leisure stocks are getting knocked down, staples are trying to recover. Walmart (WMT) is on the rise and continuing to make higher highs and higher lows in an up-trend. If price clears the 52-week high, the trend continues at about 7% from low to high. This is a trend that has lasted most of the year and I don’t see that stopping. Similarly, Marriott (MAR) broke support earlier this week and appears to be retesting old support as new resistance in a double top formation. I am expecting the stock to fall to $246 in the next two weeks and potentially to $225 over the course of the next two months. That’s all for right now.
