[Windows Intelligence](#) Windows PCs come in all shapes and sizes, and sooner or later, you'll end up peering at some tiny text or miniscule images you just have to zoom in on. This week's tip is a helpful piece of advice you've got to know for zooming in and out. Sure, you can find these options buried in menus, but shortcuts like this one are much faster. â This entire email will take you two minutes to read. Remember: If you'd rather not receive these Monday tip roundups, [you can easily opt out of them](=) without affecting the rest of your subscription. â [Got it â don't show this again](=)â This week's reader suggestion ð There are so many quick ways to zoom in and out on a Windows PC, but there's one especially useful way to reset things back to normal in your web browser when you're done. â Windows Intelligence reader Trent wrote in recently about an especially helpful shortcut I should mention in addition to all these other zooming shortcuts. ð» This works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Just as quick refresher, you can zoom in and out in a variety of ways, including: - Pressing and holding the Ctrl key, and then rotating your mouse wheel up and down.
- Pressing and holding the Ctrl key, and then tapping the + and - keys.
- Using pinch-to-zoom on your laptop's touchpad, just like it was a touchscreen. (Place two fingers on the touchpad and either move them closer together or farther apart.)
- Using pinch-to-zoom on your laptop's touchscreen â if it has one.
- Digging into your program's menu and looking for "Zoom in" and "Zoom out" options. That's a lot! But, however you prefer to zoom while using your web browser of choice, you can press Ctrl+0 (hold down the Ctrl key and press 0) to go back to the default, normal zoom level. This shortcut works in web browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox. It may work in some other applications, too â but it'll work on web pages in any browser. On Windows 10, click "Add clocks for different time zones," which you'll see at either the bottom of the window or at the right side of the window â depending on your window size. ð«° Use Snap Layouts for easy window-snapping: On Windows 11, just mouse-over the "Maximize" button near the top-right corner of any window to see the Snap Layouts grid. Or, press Windows+Z to pull it it. Click somewhere in the grid to instantly snap the current window to that area of your screen. (If you use the Windows+Z keyboard shortcut, you can press number keys instead of clicking â or use the arrow keys and the Enter key.) â±ï¸ What can you accomplish in 10 minutes a day?
