[Windows Intelligence](#) I remember when smartphones started taking off. There was a whole new way of interacting with devices full of swipes and gestures. It took some time for people to become comfortable with them. Many people use PCs and would say they're comfortable with them today. But, seen from another angle, there's still so much to discover. The sheer number of various keyboard shortcuts is one thing, but even the humble mouse hides many secrets. Wait â something special happens if I middle-click that button? Like life, Windows Intelligence is all about the joy of discovery. So let's talk about another neat discovery, courtesy of an awesome reader. â This entire email will take you two minutes to read. You can use the middle mouse button to open web links in new tabs â just middle-click a link or a browser bookmark. You can also use it to close tabs or window thumbnails â just middle-click them. But a reader shared a neat little tip with me. ð» This works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. (And on Chromebooks and Linux PCs, too.) â An anonymous Windows Intelligence reader mentioned a way to open a duplicate tab in your web browser: Just middle-click the Refresh button on the browser's navigation bar. But this works for other buttons on the navigation bar, too! You can middle-click your browser's Back button to open the previous web page in a new tab. It works with the Forward and Home buttons, too. This works in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and other web browsers. Easy!
